What is microneedling?

Microneedling is an aesthetic treatment that enables your innate healing abilities. Also known as collagen induction treatment, it’s an excellent option for men and women who want noticeable improvements in their skin but aren’t ready for cosmetic surgery or more invasive treatment options.
So, what does microneedling do? This cosmetic therapy stimulates collagen production by applying platelets using fine needles over your skin.
Platelets help the blood clot, which is vital for mending injuries and wounds. PRP is plasma in which the concentration of platelets is higher than other blood components.
Many people are drawn to Ever Youth Lab’s microneedling treatment because it is a natural approach to beautiful skin.
Best of all, microneedling can address more than one issue within the same treatment, making it a great value.

Some of the skin issues microneedling can improve include:
- NLines and wrinkles
- NAcne and acne scarring
- NHyperpigmentation
- NStretch marks
- NRosacea
- NLoose or sagging skin

How does microneedling work?

30 minutes.

Downtime:
Mild redness for 24 hours.
How does microneedling work?
Our Ever Youth Lab North Vancouver team is proud to offer the innovative SkinPen® treatment platform, a professional microneedling pen. This system uses a handheld microneedling device capped with sterile treatment needles. Our highly trained practitioners will move the powered microneedling tool across the surface of your skin, producing thousands of tiny channels into the deeper layers of skin. Each channel is a micro-injury which will trigger your body to rush to heal those areas. You’ll build new collagen and elastin cells that will smooth and plump your skin. The circulation in the treated area also improves, and scar tissue is broken down along with other textural irregularities.
It takes time to see the full benefits of microneedling treatments. You may notice initial improvements as soon as 24 hours after your visit, but the full effects might take around six months to develop. That’s because your body is working hard to create new cells, a process that doesn’t happen overnight.
Is microneedling painful?

Even though the microneedling procedure incurs slight injuries and healing, most men and women experience no significant discomfort during the process. So, does microneedling hurt? The short answer is: No. A numbing cream can help reduce sensations during and shortly after your session.
Treatments take around 30 minutes, and there is no need for preparation or considerable recovery time. It’s normal to experience some minor swelling, redness, and tenderness in the hours and days after your session, but your skin responds quickly, and you’ll be back to normal in no time.
If you have sensitive skin, ask your practitioner about your options. Call us to book a free consultation to learn more about microneedling and the SkinPen system.

ProGen Platelet-Rich Plasma System (PRP)
Your blood contains four main components: red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a platelet concentrated component from your blood full of nutrient-rich cells and protein growth factors.
What are Platelets? Platelets, white and red blood cells are made in your bone marrow. Platelets are tiny cells circulating throughout our body and bind together when they recognize damaged blood vessels.
What is Plasma? Plasma is the most significant component of your blood, making up about 55% of its overall content. The primary objective of plasma is to move nutrients, hormones, and proteins to regions of the body that need them.
How is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) prepared? PRP is produced when a small amount of blood is drawn and placed into a sterile, disposable container and then spun to separate the platelets from your blood sample, resulting in platelet-rich plasma.
Is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Safe? PRP is safe because it comes from your blood. ProGen® PRP offers the chance to harness your body’s healing power by creating a concentrated mix from a small amount of blood. The solution can be incorporated into microneedling treatments or injected into specific areas of the face, scalp and body.
Some of the issues ProGen® PRP can improve include:
- NLines and wrinkles
- NAcne and acne scarring
- NHyperpigmentation
- NStretch marks
- NRosacea
- NLoose or sagging skin
- NIssues with overall texture and tone
